System Supervisor – Cashbuild – Mbabane, Eswatini
We are seeking a meticulous and customer-focused System Supervisor to join our team at Cashbuild in Mbabane, Eswatini. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of Point of Sale (POS) transactions, maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction, and overseeing all cash office and banking functions.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary focus will be to manage and supervise all relevant Point of Sale (POS) transactions, guaranteeing exceptional customer experiences. You will be responsible for handling all Cash Office and banking processes, along with associated POS administrative duties.
You will ensure all speed point transactions, including credit and debit card payments, are processed efficiently and accurately. Assisting customers with their needs through clear and effective communication will be a key part of your role. You will handle customer requests, queries, and complaints, resolving them directly or escalating them to management when necessary, always striving to offer fast, friendly, and efficient service. Furthermore, you will be responsible for controlling and ensuring the availability of stationery and consumables within the store.
Cash Handling and Banking
In this capacity, you will manage store floats, including petty cash, till floats, and change floats. You will oversee change ordering and dispensing, meticulously balance and record petty cash expenses and vouchers, and process back-office transactions. Cashing up cashiers and the back office till, including handling bulk deposits, special deposits, charge cards, loyalty cards, and returns, will be essential. You must ensure all returns are valid and processed correctly, and that cash clearance is actioned with any queries resolved promptly. Timely pick-ups are crucial, and you will carry out end-of-day sessions on all POS terminals, including daily cash-ups. You will also ensure that daily takings are collected by the Cash in Transit (CIT) company and that a second designated Cashbuild employee is present during CIT money collections.
Ready for Business
You will ensure that “Ready for Business” processes are consistently implemented and that cashiers maintain their designated areas of responsibility. Maintaining a neat and tidy Cash Office at all times is expected, along with ensuring that only Cash Office-related documentation is kept there, filed neatly, and kept up-to-date.
People Management
This role involves ensuring all cashiers are present and available to assist customers and perform their duties. You will ensure cashiers have trained backup and execute their daily responsibilities, adhering to checklists. Scheduling of subordinates must be done on time, and you will take responsibility for product knowledge training for cashiers as per the Store Manager’s agreement. You will also be responsible for scheduling and supervising all POS employees, managing their leave, time off, and days off. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of your subordinates and ensuring all cashiers comply with the company dress code are also key aspects of this position.
Safety and Security
You will ensure that all safety standards, including OHSA requirements, are adhered to. Security awareness is paramount; you must be vigilant for any suspicious individuals or activities within and outside the store. Maintaining password security and ensuring the Cash Office is secured at all times is critical, especially during pick-ups, cash-ups, and CIT collections. You will ensure till pick-ups are conducted within set parameters, that no unauthorized persons are allowed in the Cash Office, and that safe keys are securely locked away. It is also important to ensure no rations, stock, or unrelated documentation are kept in the Cash Office.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 certificate plus 5 years of related experience, or a minimum of 10 years of work-related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is located.
- Above-average numeric skills.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Must be computer literate.
- Previous cashier experience is required.
