The Senior Technology Trainer is responsible for designing and delivering high-quality technical training focused primarily on Java technologies. This role involves working closely with senior developers and system architects to equip learners at various levels, from graduates to senior developers, with advanced technical knowledge and practical skills. The position also drives technology research and innovation to support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Training and Development

• Design and develop comprehensive technical training materials
• Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, workshops, and practical demonstrations
• Facilitate learning across introductory to advanced technology topics
• Assess assignments, provide feedback, and evaluate learner performance
• Mentor and provide personal guidance to learners
• Supervise learner research and technical projects
• Maintain learner schedules, curriculum planning, and administrative records

Research and Innovation

• Conduct ongoing research into emerging technologies and industry trends
• Develop research proposals, technical papers, and publications
• Attend and contribute to professional seminars, conferences, and workshops
• Drive innovation by exploring and implementing new technology solutions

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design and development of complex software engineering projects
• Collaborate with senior technical professionals on new technology modules
• Participate in technical projects as a technical lead
• Provide regular training performance and progress reports to management

Education

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science
• Doctoral qualification is advantageous
• Additional certification or qualification in instructional design or related fields is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ lecturing or technical instruction experience
• 5+ years of Java systems development experience is advantageous
• Strong experience in both programming and training is highly beneficial

• Java versions 11 to 21
• Spring Framework and Spring Boot 3
• Spring AI
• Hibernate and JPA
• Oracle and PL/SQL or equivalent SQL technologies
• Atlassian product suite
• GitLab and related DevOps technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Nexus, Harbor, and HashiCorp tools
• Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Prometheus
• Formal modeling languages including UML and ArchiMate
• Enterprise Architect and similar modeling tools
• Agile methodologies, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development
