Job Overview
The Tyre Coordinator is responsible for managing tyre maintenance, breakdown support, surveys, and stock control across the fleet. This role involves traveling to operational sites to ensure tyre performance, safety compliance, and accurate reporting within the tyre management system.

Key Responsibilities

Tyre Surveys

  • Conduct tyre surveys across operational sites based on fleet schedules.
  • Capture accurate tyre data including brand numbers, wheel positions, tyre pressures, and tread depth.
  • Ensure all fleet vehicles and spare wheels are surveyed monthly.
  • Correct tyre pressures and report missing spare wheels.
  • Mark spare wheel rims for identification and ensure wheel nuts are correctly secured.
  • Install wheel nut indicators where required.
  • Submit photographic evidence of scrap tyres and provide daily feedback on survey progress and findings.
  • Meet daily tyre survey targets set by management.

Stock Control

  • Ensure tyre stock is secured at all times.
  • Assist with stock discrepancy investigations and reporting.
  • Support monthly cycle counts and stock accuracy.

Tyre Branding

  • Identify tyres without brand numbers and report accordingly.
  • Apply branding to tyres based on approved specifications.

Tyre Replacement and Rotations

  • Replace worn, damaged, or punctured tyres in line with company procedures.
  • Perform tyre rotations according to tread matching guidelines.
  • Complete and submit tyre change documentation accurately and on time.

Breakdown Support

  • Prepare breakdown vehicles with required tyres before dispatch.
  • Respond promptly to tyre-related breakdowns while adhering to road and safety regulations.
  • Complete breakdown reports and ensure proper documentation of tyre changes.
  • Return damaged tyres to the depot and submit required documentation.

Company Equipment and Assets

  • Safeguard handheld devices and ensure proper storage after use.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and submit reports.
  • Ensure vehicles are securely parked and keys properly managed.
  • Report vehicle damages or incidents promptly.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report defects.
  • Submit weekly tool checklists.

Housekeeping and Safety

  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces and vehicles.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and ensure proper use of PPE.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and safety concerns immediately.

General Duties

  • Comply with company policies including SOPs, HR policies, POPIA, dress code, and attendance.
  • Provide support for additional operational needs when required.
  • Be available for occasional weekend work.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Valid Code B driver’s license.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in heavy-duty tyre maintenance.

  • Effective stock control and record-keeping skills.
  • Good planning and time management abilities.
  • Strong awareness of safety and risk management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet operational targets.
