The Actuary plays a key role within a dynamic and commercially driven actuarial team, focusing on financial sustainability, strategic insights, and business optimization. Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Sustainability

• Develop and maintain financial projection models, including budgets, forecasts, and scenario analysis
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide insights on variances
• Assess the financial impact of pricing, product changes, and customer engagement trends
• Support long-term financial planning to balance customer value with commercial viability

Partner Commercial Analysis

• Evaluate the financial performance and sustainability of partner agreements
• Build models to assess deal structures, pricing strategies, and renegotiation scenarios
• Support partner negotiations with data-driven insights on value and cost structures
• Track partner usage trends and identify potential risks and opportunities

Business Optimization and Analysis

• Conduct detailed analysis on cost drivers, revenue leakage, and operational performance
• Analyze customer behavior and engagement patterns to determine financial impact
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate return on investment for initiatives
• Recommend improvements to enhance financial performance and efficiency
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools for real-time performance tracking

Actuarial and Strategic Support

• Contribute to actuarial models supporting business strategy and value creation
• Assist with strategic initiatives and projects led by senior leadership
• Provide analytical support across various business functions

Requirements

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuary (FASSA or equivalent international qualification)
• Strong academic background

Experience

• Experience in actuarial, financial, or consulting environments such as insurance, banking, or advisory
• Exposure to financial modelling, budgeting, or commercial analysis
• Experience working with large datasets and generating actionable insights

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modelling
• Knowledge of SQL and Python is advantageous
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is beneficial
• Ability to build and validate complex financial models
