About the Role
The Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the validation function, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. This role includes managing a team, coordinating validation activities across systems and operations, and maintaining high-quality standards within a regulated logistics environment.
Main Purpose of the Role
- Manage and lead a validation team of four staff members
- Oversee computer system and equipment validation processes
- Conduct warehouse and vehicle mapping activities
- Perform risk analysis and effectiveness checks
- Review and manage CAPA processes
Qualifications
- Matric
- Validation, Pharmaceutical, or related tertiary qualification (essential)
Computer Skills
- Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Delta systems (advantageous)
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Completion of validation-related courses
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent report writing and data interpretation skills
- Knowledge of industry best practices such as GAMP and ISPE
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in validation or pharmaceutical-related environments
- Proven experience within a GWP distribution environment
- Practical knowledge of equipment, IT systems, warehouse, and vehicle validation processes, including RA, URS, DQ, IQ, OQ, and PQ
- Experience in compiling validation protocols and reports
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain validation and calibration schedules while coordinating with contractors
- Prepare validation documentation in line with regulatory standards such as 21 CFR Part 11, WHO, and SAHPRA requirements
- Ensure validation activities are completed on time and meet GWP compliance and project milestones
- Participate in change control processes and project meetings to maintain equipment compliance
- Support corporate, regulatory, and internal audits as required
- Lead computer system, facility, and transport validation studies while ensuring continuous GWP compliance
- Manage site validation documentation and perform risk assessments
- Develop and review departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Operations, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve audit findings
- Ensure continuous improvement and adherence to quality and compliance standards
