About the Opportunity

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is building a Beauty Therapist Talent Pool to identify and engage skilled professionals for future opportunities across various stores. This strategic initiative ensures a pipeline of pre-qualified Beauty Therapists ready to deliver exceptional salon services and enhance customer experience.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• 2-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 12 months’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment
• Computer literacy
• Sound numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

• 3-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional and professional salon experience to all customers
• Perform treatments including facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures according to company standards
• Respond to customer queries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner
• Stay updated on new products, treatments, and service techniques
• Manage and maintain appropriate stock levels for salon operations
• Ensure all equipment is hygienic, operational, and compliant with health standards

Competencies

Essential Skills:

• Solid understanding of skin anatomy, physiology, and treatment contraindications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities
• Team-oriented with a target-driven mindset

Advantageous:

• Experience with soft laser, bio-magnetic therapy, microdermabrasion, slimming treatments, and spray tanning
• Training on advanced salon or laser equipment
• Bilingual abilities

Special Conditions of Employment

• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Willing and able to travel to and from the store
• Physically fit to perform beauty treatments including massages and facials
• South African citizenship
• Clear criminal and credit record
