Value Logistics Vacancies – Dispatch Supervisor
The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating all dispatch operations within a warehouse or distribution environment. This role ensures the accurate and timely movement of outbound stock, supervises dispatch staff, and maintains compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements while driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Dispatch Operations
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are understood, implemented, and consistently followed within the dispatch function
- Utilize business systems effectively to manage and monitor dispatch activities
- Plan and coordinate daily outbound dispatch schedules to meet delivery deadlines
- Allocate staff resources based on operational volumes to maintain efficiency
- Oversee picking processes to ensure readiness for dispatch timelines
- Confirm availability of required materials and equipment for dispatch operations
- Ensure proper handling, packaging, and condition of stock prior to dispatch
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to documentation, vehicles, seals, or dispatched goods
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve operational issues within required timeframes
- Arrange and manage vehicle scheduling to support timely dispatch
- Oversee loading processes and ensure goods are secured correctly before departure
- Manage and update Work in Progress (WIP) reports on a daily basis
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date dispatch documentation and records
- Monitor dispatch reports and communicate performance outcomes to management
- Analyse dispatch data and implement process improvements
Staff Management
- Lead, supervise, and manage dispatch team performance
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet daily operational requirements
- Monitor and control overtime, approving only when necessary
- Ensure staff receive proper training and remain up to date with procedures and systems
Quality, Health & Safety, and KPI Management
- Define, track, and report dispatch KPIs on a regular basis
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within dispatch operations
- Proactively identify and resolve potential operational risks
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System procedures
- Manage and resolve NCRs, NCPs, and improvement actions within required timelines
- Monitor and maintain quality objectives and targets
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and scheduled safety checks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
MHE and Asset Management
- Ensure the security of stock, assets, and the facility in line with loss control policies
- Track and maintain warehouse assets to ensure optimal utilization
- Oversee the proper and safe use of Material Handling Equipment
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Warehouse Management, or Business Management is advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the logistics or warehouse environment
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse systems such as WMS
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Effective leadership and team management skills

- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently
