The Senior Manager: Digital Business Development plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing digital growth strategies that drive customer acquisition, improve conversion rates, and enhance overall commercial performance across the credit card portfolio. This role is responsible for translating strategic business objectives into high-impact digital initiatives that deliver measurable revenue growth and operational efficiency.

As a Senior Manager: Digital Business Development, you will lead the end-to-end digital acquisition journey, ensuring that demand generation, onboarding flows, and channel strategies are optimized for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. The role requires strong commercial acumen, digital expertise, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams across marketing, product, risk, finance, and technology.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of the Senior Manager: Digital Business Development is to own and drive digital commercial performance across the credit card acquisition funnel. This includes demand generation, conversion optimization, channel migration, and revenue growth, ensuring that digital strategies deliver sustainable business outcomes aligned with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Commercial Performance Ownership

  • Own end-to-end digital acquisition performance across credit card products
  • Manage key commercial metrics including volume, approval rates, booking rates, and cost per acquisition
  • Ensure digital channels deliver high-quality customer acquisition at optimal cost
  • Provide commercial input into investment decisions and strategic prioritisation
  • Track and report performance against agreed business targets

Growth Strategy Execution

  • Translate credit card growth objectives into actionable digital strategies
  • Develop and execute initiatives that drive sustainable revenue and volume growth
  • Align digital execution with broader business and portfolio strategies
  • Identify opportunities to scale digital acquisition and improve efficiency
  • Support long-term strategic planning for digital channel expansion

Demand Generation and Marketing Optimization

  • Define and optimize digital demand generation strategies across multiple channels
  • Oversee always-on and campaign-based acquisition initiatives
  • Ensure targeting, messaging, and incentives drive high-quality customer acquisition
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to improve creative and media effectiveness
  • Maximize return on marketing investment through performance-driven execution

Conversion and Customer Journey Optimization

  • Own optimization of the digital application, approval, and onboarding funnels
  • Identify and address friction points within the customer journey
  • Drive initiatives that reduce drop-off rates and improve conversion efficiency
  • Partner with product and risk teams to balance growth with credit quality and compliance
  • Continuously enhance digital onboarding experiences for customers

Channel Strategy and Optimization

  • Lead digital-first channel transformation initiatives across acquisition pathways
  • Increase the proportion of digital bookings while optimizing assisted channels
  • Support branch and voice teams in adopting digital steering principles
  • Enable channel migration strategies that reduce cost-to-serve
  • Align channel performance with overall business growth objectives

Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration

  • Act as the commercial integrator across marketing, product, risk, finance, and technology teams
  • Ensure alignment of all stakeholders around digital growth priorities
  • Influence cross-functional decision-making to support commercial outcomes
  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure scalable and efficient digital platforms
  • Partner with risk and compliance teams to ensure responsible growth practices

Performance Management and Governance

  • Establish robust performance tracking, reporting, and governance frameworks
  • Monitor digital acquisition performance and proactively manage risks and dependencies
  • Provide regular performance updates and insights to senior leadership
  • Ensure accountability for delivery of commercial outcomes across digital initiatives
  • Maintain clear visibility of funnel performance and conversion metrics

Business Case Development and Value Realization

  • Develop and sponsor business cases for digital initiatives and investments
  • Ensure clear linkage between initiatives and measurable commercial benefits
  • Track and report value realization against approved business cases
  • Support prioritization of initiatives based on ROI and strategic impact
  • Drive accountability for delivery of expected financial outcomes

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong experience in digital business development, digital marketing, or revenue operations
  • Proven track record in driving digital acquisition and conversion performance
  • Strong understanding of customer journey optimization and funnel management
  • Experience working in financial services or credit product environments is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex performance data
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in agile or matrix environments
  • Strong commercial acumen and decision-making capability

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or related field
  • Professional qualifications in business management or digital transformation will be an advantage
