Cashbuild is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a System Sup in Mondlo, South Africa. This role is crucial for ensuring exceptional customer service through the efficient management of Point of Sale (POS) transactions, Cash Office operations, and related administrative functions. Key Responsibilities

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Oversee all Point of Sale (POS) transactions to guarantee total customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively assist customers with their needs through clear and effective communication.
  • Address customer requests, queries, and complaints, resolving them directly or escalating to management as appropriate.
  • Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to all customers.
  • Ensure the availability of stationery and consumables within the store.

Cash Handling and Banking:

  • Manage and control store floats, including Petty Cash, Till Floats, and Change Floats.
  • Handle change ordering and dispensing accurately.
  • Balance and record petty cash expenses and vouchers in the Petty Cash Ledger.
  • Process back-office transactions and perform cash-ups for cashiers and the back office till, including bulk deposits, special deposits, charge cards, loyalty cards, and returns.
  • Validate all returns and ensure they are processed correctly.
  • Execute cash clearance and resolve any associated queries.
  • Ensure timely cash pick-ups.
  • Conduct end-of-day procedures on all Point of Sale (POS) terminals.
  • Perform daily cash-ups for all POS terminals, including the back-office terminal.
  • Liaise with a second designated Cashbuild employee for Cash-in-Transit (CIT) money collections.
  • Ensure daily takings are collected by the Cash-in-Transit (CIT) Company.

Operational Readiness:

  • Implement “Ready for Business” processes and ensure they are maintained.
  • Ensure cashiers maintain their designated areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain a neat and tidy Cash Office.
  • Organise and file all Cash Office-related documentation accurately and keep it up-to-date.

Team Management and Development:

  • Ensure all cashiers are present and available to assist customers and perform their duties.
  • Confirm that trained backup is available for cashiers.
  • Verify that cashiers execute their daily duties, adhering to checklists like “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control.”
  • Complete subordinate scheduling on time.
  • Take responsibility for product knowledge training for cashiers, as agreed with the Store Manager.
  • Schedule and supervise all Point of Sale (POS) employees, managing leave, time off, and days off.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of subordinates.
  • Ensure all cashiers comply with the company dress code.

Safety and Security:

  • Adhere to all safety standards (OHSA).
  • Maintain awareness of suspicious individuals and activities within and outside the store.
  • Practice password security diligently.
  • Ensure the Cash Office is secured at all times.
  • Confirm the Cash Office door is always locked during pick-ups, cash-ups, and CIT collections.
  • Ensure till pick-ups are conducted within set parameters.
  • Prevent unauthorised persons from entering the Cash Office.
  • Ensure safe keys are locked away securely.
  • Prohibit the storage of rations, stock, or unrelated documentation within the Cash Office.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience, or a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Previous cashier experience is required.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area.
  • Above-average numerical skills.
