We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Perpetual Inventory Controller to join our team at Cashbuild. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring the smooth operation of our inventory management system. Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include conducting physical cycle stock counts and meticulously verifying them against system stock on hand. You will be responsible for reconciling discrepancies, investigating the root causes, and accurately capturing identified variances. A key part of this role involves identifying and reporting damaged stock, incorrect pricing, and SKU issues to management.

Duties & Key Performance Areas

Perpetual Inventory Counts:

  • Perform daily stock counts according to the Perpetual Inventory Count (PIC) cycle.
  • Investigate all stock variances (positive or negative) and report findings to the Store Manager.
  • Investigate and rectify negative stock quantities daily, obtaining approval from the Store Manager before proceeding.
  • Identify and report any damaged stock to the Store Manager.
  • Conduct mini stock-takes as instructed by management.
  • Assist with preparations for full stock-takes, highlighting any areas of concern.
  • Ensure normal PIC counts are completed during full stock-takes.

Reporting:

  • Report daily variances to the Store Manager and/or Divisional Manager as per Cashbuild procedures.
  • Report all irregularities to Store Management and/or the Divisional Manager.
  • Escalate irregularities to the Divisional Manager if the Store Manager does not take action.
  • Report on incorrect or poor-quality pricing, SKUs, and damaged stock.
  • Report on poor merchandising in racking and bulk storage areas.
  • Highlight any areas in the bulk stock area requiring special attention.

PIC Adjustments:

  • Ensure all PIC adjustments are actioned, verified for accuracy, and signed off by Management.
  • Validate the “End of Day Report” against the previous day’s PIC Adjustment Sheet and file accordingly.
  • Report any adjustments not completed on the day of the count cycle before the end of the trading day.

Filing and Administration:

  • Ensure all PIC documents are completed, signed by you, approved by the Store Manager, and filed daily.

Ready for Business:

  • Adhere to “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” standards as per the Cashbuild Way.

Customer Service:

  • Adhere to the Cashbuild dress code at all times.
  • Ensure your name badge is displayed and visible to customers.
  • Promptly assist with customer complaints.

Safety (OHSA) Requirements:

  • Ensure compliance with Safety (OHSA) regulations, including customer and staff safety within your area of responsibility.
  • Report any safety discrepancies to the Store Manager.
  • Ensure correct safety equipment and clothing are used.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A minimum of Grade 12 is required.
  • Possess at least one (1) year of relevant work experience, or two (2) years of related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language spoken in the Holfontein area.
  • Must be literate.
  • Strong numeric skills are essential.
  • Must be accurate and capable of working effectively under pressure.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays.
