Perpetual Inventory Controller – Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal

Cashbuild is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Perpetual Inventory Controller to join our team in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring efficient inventory management within the store. Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Perpetual Inventory Counts: Conducting daily physical stock counts and verifying them against system records. Investigating and reconciling any discrepancies, identifying the root causes, and capturing variances.
  • Reporting: Reporting daily variances to the Store Manager and/or Divisional Manager. Escalating any irregularities or concerns to management promptly, as required by the Cashbuild Way. This includes reporting on damaged stock, incorrect pricing, SKU issues, and poor merchandising.
  • PIC Adjustments: Ensuring all inventory adjustments are processed accurately, verified, and signed off by management. Validating the “End of Day Report” against the daily PIC Adjustment Sheet and reporting any unaddressed adjustments before the end of the trading day.
  • Filing and Administration: Meticulously completing, signing, and submitting all Perpetual Inventory Count (PIC) documents for approval and filing on a daily basis.
  • Operational Readiness: Adhering to “Ready for Business” and “Beyond my Control” standards as outlined in the Cashbuild Way.
  • Customer Service: Maintaining a professional appearance by adhering to the Cashbuild dress code, ensuring name badges are visible, and promptly assisting customers with complaints.
  • Safety Compliance: Upholding Safety (OHSA) requirements, including ensuring the safety of customers and staff within your area of responsibility. Reporting any safety discrepancies and ensuring the correct use of safety equipment and clothing.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of Grade 12.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience, or two years of related experience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant language spoken in the Richards Bay geographical area.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • The ability to work accurately, especially under pressure.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
