Test Automation Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Test Automation Engineer to join a dynamic technology team focused on delivering reliable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing automated testing strategies across web applications, APIs, and backend systems while ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks and test scripts.
- Execute automated and manual testing activities to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Perform front-end, back-end, integration, regression, and API testing.
- Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Identify, document, and track software defects while ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites to support continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Contribute to test planning, test case design, and test execution activities.
- Monitor and improve testing environments, tools, and automation pipelines.
- Ensure quality standards are embedded throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations to improve product quality and performance.
- Support the implementation of best practices in software testing and automation.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Software Testing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ hands-on experience in test automation.
- Strong understanding of test automation frameworks, methodologies, and testing best practices.
- Experience with integration testing, regression testing, and API testing.
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Experience using version control systems such as Git.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience working within Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification or equivalent software testing qualification.
- Experience using Playwright for test automation.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript for automated testing.
- Experience within banking, financial services, credit systems, or complex transactional environments.
- Exposure to modern testing tools, frameworks, and automation platforms.

Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 National Certificate or equivalent.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Software Testing, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
