Lead Technology Partner
Job Summary
The Lead Technology Partner is responsible for leading end-to-end agile solution design, deployment, optimisation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide technology products and services. The Lead Technology Partner ensures full-stack ownership of technical solutions, aligning architecture, infrastructure, and delivery with business strategy while driving performance, scalability, and resilience across the organisation.
Role Overview
As a Lead Technology Partner, you will act as the primary technology interface between business and engineering teams, owning the design and delivery of complex digital solutions. You will define technical strategy, guide architecture decisions, oversee DevOps practices, and ensure that all products and services are built for long-term scalability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Product and Service Strategy & Solution Design
- Partner with CIOs and product owners to define end-to-end technical and product strategy
- Act as the single point of accountability for product and solution delivery
- Lead solution blueprint design aligned with short-, medium-, and long-term business strategy
- Apply design thinking to develop scalable and architecturally sound solutions
- Guide technical decision-making across front-end, back-end, and integration layers
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and cloud standards
- Oversee scoping, prioritisation, and integration planning across multiple stakeholders
- Continuously monitor and optimise product and service performance for business value
DevOps and Engineering Excellence
- Lead full-stack engineering practices across squads and delivery teams
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and deployment strategies
- Drive adoption of cloud and infrastructure technologies including AWS, Azure, and containerisation platforms
- Ensure engineering solutions meet standards of scalability, resilience, self-service, and testability
- Guide development practices including advanced coding principles and architectural patterns
- Oversee application lifecycle management, ensuring stability, performance, and continuous optimisation
- Manage DevOps pipelines to ensure efficient, low-risk deployment cycles
- Coach and mentor senior engineers to strengthen technical capability and delivery quality
Delivery and Agile Execution
- Lead agile delivery across multiple squads and ensure effective run and change management
- Resource and manage cross-functional teams aligned to delivery priorities
- Embed agile practices including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement cycles
- Partner with transformation and change teams to ensure seamless execution of programmes
- Build strong relationships with product owners and enhance their technical understanding
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, risk, and technology leadership teams
People Leadership and Capability Building
- Define and cascade product and technology direction across delivery squads
- Attract, develop, and retain high-performing and diverse technical teams
- Build a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous learning
- Ensure the right skills and capabilities are embedded within teams to support strategic goals
- Apply coaching and mentoring approaches to enhance technical excellence
Financial, Risk, Governance, and Vendor Management
- Own end-to-end accountability for technical risk from design to deployment
- Ensure compliance with enterprise risk, governance, and architecture frameworks
- Drive alignment with infrastructure and design standards across all solutions
- Lead vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management processes
- Ensure cost-effective, scalable, and resilient technology investments
- Deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology
Skills and Competencies
- Strong full-stack architecture and engineering expertise
- Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud technologies
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Strong programming knowledge (e.g. Java, Python, C++, or similar)
- Experience with containerisation, automation, and infrastructure-as-code
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and resilience principles
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Strong agile delivery and programme management capability
- Strong risk, governance, and financial management awareness
- Ability to translate business strategy into technical execution
