The 2027 FirstRand Quant and Analytics Graduate Program is a structured, immersive two-year development opportunity designed to develop exceptional graduates into future leaders in quantitative analysis, data science, and risk analytics within financial services.

This program provides hands-on exposure across multiple business units within the Group, offering graduates a unique opportunity to build deep technical expertise while gaining practical experience in real-world financial and risk environments. Participants will work on complex analytical problems, develop quantitative models, and contribute to data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities and Exposure

Quantitative and Analytical Development
  • Apply quantitative techniques to solve complex business and risk problems.
  • Support the development, testing, and enhancement of analytical and statistical models.
  • Work with large datasets to generate insights and support decision-making.
  • Contribute to data-driven projects across various business functions.
Risk and Financial Services Exposure
  • Gain exposure to different risk types including credit, market, operational, and model risk.
  • Participate in analytical projects supporting business performance and risk management.
  • Understand how quantitative models are applied within a banking environment.
  • Work closely with experienced professionals across risk and analytics teams.
Business Integration and Collaboration

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be currently studying towards or enrolled in a postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8 or higher).
  • Fields of study must include one of the following:
    • Actuarial Science
    • Data Analytics
    • Mathematics
    • Statistics
    • Risk Management
    • Engineering
  • Strong academic performance and quantitative aptitude.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
