Business Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and process-driven Business Engineer to support the delivery and continuous improvement of innovative banking platforms and customer solutions. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of business strategy, process optimization, product delivery, and technology, ensuring that solutions are efficiently designed, implemented, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Product and Platform Delivery
  • Manage and oversee the delivery of features and enhancements across assigned business platforms.
  • Take ownership of product initiatives from concept through implementation and deployment.
  • Ensure solutions are delivered according to business requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Act as the custodian of assigned platforms, ensuring alignment between business objectives, customer needs, and technical delivery.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, UX Designers, and Development teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Business Analysis and Process Improvement
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, process flows, and customer journeys.
  • Analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive process optimization initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to improve business outcomes.
  • Evaluate opportunities for automation and digital transformation across business processes.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Engage with stakeholders across multiple business units to gather requirements and align priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to support solution design and decision-making.
  • Present recommendations, project updates, and business cases to management and stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
  • Manage competing priorities and ensure stakeholder expectations are effectively addressed.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including automation and intelligent digital solutions.
  • Support the implementation of innovative approaches to improve operational efficiency and customer journeys.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.
  • Monitor solution performance and recommend enhancements based on business needs and user feedback.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 National Certificate or equivalent.
  • Relevant Engineering qualification, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in Business Engineering, Product Delivery, Process Engineering, Business Process Management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Strong understanding of process optimization, business analysis, and solution delivery.
  • Experience working within product development, technology, or digital transformation environments.
  • Ability to manage end-to-end delivery of business initiatives and operational improvements.

  • Strong business process modelling skills, including BPMN, IDEF-0, Enterprise Architect, or similar methodologies.
