Boilermaker
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Boilermaker to join a dynamic underground mining operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of steel structures, mining equipment, and underground infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, install, modify, and repair steel structures and components used in underground mining operations.
- Perform maintenance and repair work on mining equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
- Conduct cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembly tasks according to technical specifications.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Inspect structures and equipment to identify defects, wear, and maintenance requirements.
- Ensure all fabrication and repair work meets quality standards and engineering specifications.
- Assist with shutdown projects, equipment installations, and structural upgrades.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Complete work within scheduled timelines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and equipment inspections.
- Ensure strict compliance with mine safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Qualified Boilermaker Trade Certificate.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience within an underground mining environment.
- Valid Red Ticket or Medical Fitness Certificate for underground mining work.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Experience in structural fabrication, welding preparation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Strong knowledge of underground mining equipment and infrastructure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Mandatory Certifications
- Valid Working at Heights Certificate.
- Valid Confined Space Certificate.
- Valid Power Tools Training Certificate.
