Cashbuild is seeking a meticulous and reliable Perpetual Inventory Controller to join our team in Holfontein. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring the smooth operation of our inventory management processes. Key Responsibilities: Perpetual Inventory Counts & Reporting

As a Perpetual Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for conducting daily physical cycle stock counts, comparing them against system records, and diligently investigating any discrepancies. You will play a vital role in identifying and reporting damaged stock, incorrect pricing, and SKU issues. Your daily duties will include:

  • Performing physical cycle stock counts according to the established PIC Count Cycle.
  • Thoroughly investigating all stock variances, both positive and negative, and reporting findings to the Store Manager.
  • Investigating and rectifying negative stock quantities daily, with necessary approval from the Store Manager.
  • Identifying and reporting damaged stock to the Store Manager.
  • Conducting mini stock-takes as instructed by management.
  • Assisting with preparations for full wall-to-wall stock-takes, highlighting any areas of concern.
  • Ensuring normal PIC counts are completed during full stock-takes.
  • Reporting daily variances to the Store Manager and/or Divisional Manager, adhering to Cashbuild procedures.
  • Reporting all irregularities to Store Management and/or Divisional Manager, escalating to the Divisional Manager if the Store Manager does not take action.
  • Reporting on incorrect or poor-quality pricing, SKUs, and damaged stock.
  • Identifying and reporting on poor merchandising in racking and bulk areas.
  • Highlighting any bulk stock areas requiring special attention.

PIC Adjustments and Administration

Your role will also involve managing and documenting inventory adjustments to maintain accuracy:

  • Ensuring all adjustments are actioned, verified for accuracy, and signed off by Management.
  • Validating the “End of Day Report” against the previous day’s PIC Adjustment Sheet and filing appropriately.
  • Reporting any adjustments not completed on the day of the count cycle prior to the end of the trading day.
  • Ensuring all PIC documents are completed, signed by you, approved by the Store Manager, and filed daily.

Professional Conduct and Safety

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of Grade 12.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant work experience, or two years of related experience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language of the area.
  • Literacy is essential.
  • Strong numeric skills are a must.
  • A high level of accuracy and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays.
