About the Role
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving new business growth within the distribution and logistics sector. This role focuses on identifying opportunities, building a strong sales pipeline, and converting prospects into sustainable clients while delivering value-driven logistics solutions.
Computer Literacy
- Intermediate proficiency in the full MS Office Suite
Job Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience in new business sales within the transport and logistics industry
- Proven ability to prospect and secure new business opportunities
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Experience in tender management, including preparation and presentation
- Ability to sell cross-functional logistics solutions
- Experience in developing and managing a qualified sales pipeline
- Ability to report directly to the Regional Sales Manager
- Experience in compiling monthly reports as required
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Basic understanding of supply chain and logistics operations
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Advanced new business development and negotiation skills
Key Responsibilities
- Secure new business within the distribution market and achieve monthly and annual sales targets
- Prospect for new clients, build a qualified pipeline, and convert leads into long-term business
- Manage and maintain strong client relationships
- Prepare and present monthly billing and financial reports
- Perform daily administrative tasks efficiently
- Represent the DSV brand professionally in all engagements
- Analyze sales data and provide weekly reports to the Regional Sales Manager
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
- Conduct competitor and industry analysis to identify opportunities
- Support the preparation and delivery of tenders and proposals
- Deliver innovative and sustainable logistics solutions tailored to client needs
- Ensure achievement of monthly and cumulative targets
- Oversee implementation and communication of new business across departments
- Manage debtor days in line with company requirements
- Promote effective interdepartmental communication and collaboration
- Identify cross-functional solutions and work closely with department heads
- Mentor junior New Business Sales Executives
- Ensure all client documentation complies with company procedures and quality standards
- Maintain and update the internal CRM system
- Meet defined client engagement and call ratio KPIs
- Perform additional duties as required by management
