About the Role
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving business growth by securing new clients and achieving monthly and annual sales targets. This role focuses on identifying strategic opportunities, onboarding new accounts, and ensuring successful implementation while delivering long-term value to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect for new business opportunities and build a qualified pipeline of leads
- Convert prospects into sustainable, revenue-generating clients
- Manage and maintain strong client relationships
- Prepare and share monthly billing and financial reports with stakeholders
- Perform daily administrative tasks efficiently
- Represent the DSV brand professionally in all interactions
- Analyze sales performance and provide weekly reports to the Regional New Business Sales Manager
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information on the CRM system (Dynamics)
- Monitor competitor activity and provide industry insights
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of tenders and proposals
- Deliver innovative and value-driven solutions tailored to customer needs
- Achieve quarterly, cumulative, and annual sales targets
- Oversee the implementation of new accounts and ensure effective communication with stakeholders
- Manage debtor days in line with company requirements
- Ensure effective communication across departments
- Identify cross-functional opportunities and collaborate with department heads
- Ensure CRM data is maintained in accordance with company procedures and quality standards
- Meet defined client engagement and call ratio KPIs
- Adhere to deadlines and maintain a results-driven approach
- Perform additional duties as required by management
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
- Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
Computer Skills
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint (essential)
- Advanced computer skills (advantageous)
Experience and Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience in Key Account Management and new business sales
- Proven ability to prospect and secure new business
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets
- Experience in tender management, including preparation and presentation
- Ability to sell cross-functional logistics solutions
- Experience in signing and growing strategic accounts
- Experience in implementing new business accounts
- Ability to report directly to the Regional Sales Manager
- Experience in weekly and monthly reporting
