Job Overview
The Warehouse Operator Specialist, Inventory Control plays a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory management and control across daily, weekly, and monthly operations. This position is responsible for maintaining high standards in stock accuracy, supporting client service level agreements, and driving continuous improvement in warehouse inventory processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification is advantageous
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in supply chain warehousing
- Strong knowledge of WMS systems
- Experience with inventory management software and applications
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Job Requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment
- In-depth understanding of inbound, outbound, cycle counting, and returns processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
- Solid understanding of inventory management principles
- Ability to work extended or after-hours when required
- Experience in audit preparation, stock-taking, and inventory control processes

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Identify and mitigate inventory-related risks proactively
- Monitor stock levels and address shortages or overstock situations
- Manage inventory using FIFO, and handle obsolete or slow-moving stock as required
- Perform daily reconciliation between WMS and client systems to ensure alignment
- Maintain strict inventory security to prevent loss or theft
- Plan and execute cycle counts, wall-to-wall counts, and ABC analysis in line with KPIs
- Ensure Material Master and Bin Master data is accurate and up to date
- Manage damaged, quarantined, and scrapped stock processes
- Ensure adherence to inventory processes in both operations and administration
- Support system enhancements and continuous improvements
- Process returns efficiently and accurately
- Ensure virtual locations within WMS are cleared within required timelines
- Implement corrective actions (CAPA) for recurring inventory issues
Team Management
- Define clear roles and responsibilities for team members
- Monitor and manage team performance against key deliverables
- Lead by example, ensuring fairness, consistency, and strong communication
- Support employee development through training and multi-skilling initiatives
