Job Overview

The Sales Representative – New Business is responsible for driving growth by acquiring new clients and achieving monthly and annual sales targets. This role focuses on identifying strategic opportunities, securing new accounts, and ensuring successful implementation while delivering long-term value to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prospect new business opportunities, building a strong pipeline and converting leads into sustainable clients
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term growth
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual new business targets
  • Manage the onboarding and implementation of newly signed strategic accounts
  • Prepare and present tenders, proposals, and client presentations
  • Monitor sales performance, including billing and financial reporting to stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records on CRM systems such as Dynamics
  • Conduct competitor and industry analysis and provide regular insights
  • Collaborate with internal departments to deliver integrated and cross-functional solutions
  • Ensure effective communication across departments for smooth service delivery
  • Manage debtor days in line with company requirements
  • Represent the DSV brand professionally in all client interactions
  • Meet required KPIs, including client call ratios and reporting deadlines
  • Perform general administrative duties and provide weekly reports to management

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint (intermediate level required)
  • Advanced computer skills will be an added advantage
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and reporting abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

Experience Required

  • 2–3 years’ experience in Key Account Management and New Business Sales
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and securing new clients
  • Experience in prospecting and developing new business opportunities
  • Tender management and proposal development experience
  • Ability to sell integrated and cross-functional solutions
  • Experience in onboarding and managing strategic accounts
  • Regular reporting to Sales Management on performance and pipeline
