Panel Saw Operator – Cashbuild (Nelspruit, Mpumalanga)
Cashbuild is seeking a skilled and meticulous Panel Saw Operator to join our team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. This role is crucial in ensuring that customer estimations are precisely cut according to specifications, timelines, and company standards, while minimizing material waste and preventing machinery breakdowns due to negligence.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:
- Deliver reliable and prompt customer service, providing accurate advice on products.
- Assist customers with product queries and address any complaints in a timely manner.
- Be available to support customers within the area of responsibility.
- Provide assistance to other departments as needed.
Housekeeping:
- Maintain a clean and obstacle-free work area, ensuring stock is merchandised immediately upon receipt.
- Ensure the area is safe and free from hazards for all personnel.
- Complete required checklists, including canteen and toilet schedules, when on duty.
- Assist with packing stock away in designated bins.
Safety (OHSA) Compliance:
- Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements, including the proper use of safety gear and ensuring the safety of customers and employees.
- Follow all machinery specifications and safety standards.
- Ensure stock in the area of responsibility is merchandised safely to prevent injury.
Loss Prevention and Security:
- Be vigilant for suspicious behaviour and report any concerns to management immediately.
- Verify proof of purchase or required documentation before loading any product for a customer.
- Ensure the correct order/invoice is presented before cutting, edging, or drilling any products.
Cutting and Edging Operations:
- Minimize wastage and customer complaints through accurate calibration of machinery based on cutting lists.
- Ensure accuracy by precisely reading and interpreting cutting lists.
- Perform daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on all machinery.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience operating cutting and edging machinery is advantageous.
- 2 years of carpentry experience would be beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
