Catering Manager
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Catering Manager to oversee all food service operations within a healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, food production processes, staffing, budgeting, compliance, and service delivery while ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the catering unit and ensure efficient service delivery.
- Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with operational standards.
- Develop and implement menus that meet nutritional requirements, special dietary needs, and client expectations.
- Manage food and labour costs while maintaining profitability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP standards, food safety regulations, and hygiene requirements.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the kitchen brigade and catering teams.
- Monitor inventory levels, procurement activities, and stock control procedures.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising food quality or service standards.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Support the strategic planning and day-to-day management of catering operations.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Food and Beverage Services, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in catering or kitchen management.
- Proven experience working within budget guidelines and achieving operational targets.
- Hospital catering experience is essential.
- Experience managing high-volume and complex food service operations is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of special dietary requirements and therapeutic meal planning.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards is advantageous.
- Proficiency in computer applications and reporting systems.
