Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Excellence
- Provide comprehensive and friendly customer service within the store.
- Advise and assist customers with product selection and address their queries effectively.
- Actively assist in resolving customer complaints to ensure satisfaction.
Merchandising and Presentation Standards
- Ensure all stock, both in bulk storage and on shelves, is merchandised safely and meticulously according to store layout plans and planograms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shelf price labelling within your designated area.
- Keep your area of responsibility fully merchandised, ensuring an attractive and organized display for customers.
Store Housekeeping and Safety
- Maintain impeccable housekeeping standards, ensuring your area is free of obstacles and stock is merchandised promptly upon receipt.
- Guarantee that aisles are clear and safe for customers to navigate without risk of injury or irritation.
- Adhere strictly to Safety (OHSA) requirements, including the proper use of safety gear and ensuring the safety of both customers and colleagues.
- Ensure stock in racking and bulk areas is merchandised in a manner that allows safe movement for customers and colleagues within the store.
- Complete required checklists, including Canteen and Toilet/Showers schedules, when on duty.
Stock Management
- Report any damaged stock within your area of responsibility promptly to the Store Manager.
- Report any discrepancies observed to the Store Manager.
Requirements
To be considered for this General Assistant position, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of Grade 10 or NQF 3 qualification coupled with 1 year of relevant work experience, OR a Grade 12 qualification without prior related work experience.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant language spoken in the Burgersfort geographical area.
- A valid South African ID or a valid work permit.
- The capability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure.
