Key Purpose

The Pre-Auth Service Consultant is responsible for delivering exceptional service to Discovery Health Members, Providers, Employers, Hospitals, and Brokers by resolving queries efficiently through multiple communication channels, primarily telephonically.

The role also involves managing the risk of in-hospital admissions by applying clinical knowledge, interpreting scheme benefits, and ensuring accurate funding decisions and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Confirm member benefits according to defined protocols and funding rules
  • Accurately capture and verify clinical and administrative information for funding approval
  • Manage and resolve queries across multiple service channels until completion
  • Deliver customer-centric service aligned with organizational service principles
  • Stay updated on product changes, benefits, and clinical guidelines
  • Maintain strong knowledge of digital servicing tools and platforms
  • Ensure consistent use of all available systems and tools to support service delivery
  • Handle multiple interactions efficiently while maintaining service quality
  • Achieve and exceed key performance and service delivery targets
  • Continuously stay informed on process updates, product changes, and system enhancements
