About the Role

As a Sales Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to foster sales by consistently interacting with customers. This includes accurately costing building plans, issuing precise quotations, and maintaining high standards for store presentation and merchandising. You will also play a key role in managing a cost-effective and efficient delivery service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Generation:
    • Issue and follow up on quotations to drive sales.
    • Manage the quotation process and control special orders.
    • Read building plans and ensure quotations are accurate and delivered within agreed timeframes.
    • Handle telephone inquiries, return calls promptly, and ensure all follow-ups are completed.
    • Conduct competitor analysis to ensure the store’s pricing remains competitive.
    • Communicate bulk deposit transfers to customers.
    • Promote loyalty programs, including VIC and Charge Card customers.
  • Delivery Management:
    • Oversee an efficient delivery service and ensure correct rates are applied.
    • Ensure deliveries are dispatched within the required time limits.
    • Proactively communicate any delayed deliveries to customers and arrange suitable alternatives.
  • Customer Service Excellence:
    • Effectively manage the Customer Service Desk.
    • Record, follow up on, and resolve customer complaints.
    • Ensure all customers receive efficient service and are attended to promptly.
    • Maintain excellent telephone etiquette, answering all calls within the required timeframe.
  • Store Standards and Operations:
    • Manage Ready for Business Checklists and related processes for your area of responsibility and those of support staff.
    • Implement price changes accurately, aligning with advertised prices.
    • Execute planogram implementations.
  • Team Support and Management:
    • Ensure adequate staffing levels of General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers in their respective areas to assist customers.
    • Confirm that trained backup is available for all team members.
    • Oversee the execution of daily duties by General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers, including “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” tasks.
  • Safety and Security:
    • Adhere to all safety standards.
    • Ensure employees under your supervision wear correct protective clothing and use equipment safely.
    • Maintain awareness of suspicious individuals or activities within and around the store.
    • Uphold password security protocols.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience, or 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in reading building plans is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in both English and the dominant local language spoken in the Wolmaransstad area.
  • Above-average numeric skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and delegation skills.
