Perpetual Inventory Controller | Cashbuild – Mondlo, South Africa
Cashbuild is seeking a meticulous and diligent Perpetual Inventory Controller to join our team in Mondlo, South Africa. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring the integrity of our inventory system.
Key Responsibilities
As a Perpetual Inventory Controller, your primary focus will be on the accurate management and reconciliation of stock. This includes:
- Performing physical cycle stock counts and verifying stock on hand against system data.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies, identifying the root cause of variances and capturing these findings.
- Identifying and reporting damaged stock, incorrect pricing, and SKU issues.
Role Specifics
Perpetual Inventory Counts:
- Conduct daily stock counts in accordance with the Perpetual Inventory Count (PIC) Cycle.
- Investigate all variances (positive and negative), reporting findings to the Store Manager.
- Investigate and rectify negative stock quantities daily, obtaining Store Manager approval.
- Report damaged stock to the Store Manager.
- Undertake mini stock-takes as directed by management.
- Assist with preparations for full wall-to-wall stock-takes and report any concerns.
- Ensure normal PIC counts are completed during full stock-takes.
Reporting:
- Report daily variances to the Store Manager and/or Divisional Manager as per Cashbuild procedures.
- Report all irregularities to Store Management and/or the Divisional Manager.
- Escalate irregularities to the Divisional Manager if the Store Manager does not take action.
- Report on incorrect or poor-quality pricing, SKUs, and damaged stock.
- Report on merchandising issues in racking and bulk areas.
- Highlight any bulk stock areas requiring special attention.
PIC Adjustments:
- Ensure all adjustments are processed, verified for accuracy, and signed off by Management.
- Validate the “End of Day Report” against the previous day’s PIC Adjustment Sheet and file accordingly.
- Report any adjustments not completed on the day of the count cycle before the end of trading.
Filing and Administration:
- Ensure all PIC documents are completed, signed by you, approved by the Store Manager, and filed daily.
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of Grade 12.
- At least one year of relevant work experience, or two years of related experience.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language of the area.
- Strong literacy and numerical skills.
- Accuracy and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
