Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor – Polokwane

Cashbuild is seeking a dedicated and experienced Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor to join our team in Polokwane. This role is crucial for overseeing the efficient and accurate operation of our cutting and edging processes, ensuring quality standards are met and resources are managed effectively. Responsibilities

As a Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring cutting and edging operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in cutting and edging fabric according to customer specifications, with a focus on minimizing company losses.
  • Ensuring the quality of finished products meets required standards.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of all machinery.
  • Minimizing wastage and customer complaints through accurate machine calibration and precise interpretation of cutting lists.
  • Performing daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Providing reliable and prompt customer service.
  • Ensuring effective employee scheduling to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Advising customers correctly on products and assisting with any product queries or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Assisting in other departments as required.
  • Maintaining a neatly packed and obstacle-free work area.
  • Ensuring stock is merchandised immediately upon receipt.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations (OHSA), including the use of safety gear and maintaining the safety of both customers and employees.
  • Adhering to machinery specifications and safety standards.
  • Ensuring stock is merchandised safely.
  • Monitoring for suspicious behaviour and reporting it to management.
  • Ensuring all product loading for customers is done with proof of purchase or necessary documentation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience (advantageous).
  • A minimum of 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience (advantageous).
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with cutting and edging machinery (advantageous).
  • The ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
  • Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure.
