Growth Credit Analyst: Senior User Interface Designer

Job Summary

The Growth Credit Analyst role in this context focuses on delivering high-quality, scalable, and intuitive user interface designs that support exceptional digital customer experiences across the organisation’s platforms. The Growth Credit Analyst is responsible for translating complex customer and business needs into clear, usable, and visually compelling interface solutions that align with design standards, accessibility requirements, and brand consistency.

Role Overview

As a Growth Credit Analyst, you will operate as a senior UI craft specialist responsible for designing, refining, and governing user interface standards across multiple digital products and journeys. You will collaborate with product designers, UX teams, engineers, and product managers to deliver consistent, accessible, and high-performing digital experiences at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Problem Solving and Execution

  • Partner with product, UX, and business teams to define UI-focused problem statements
  • Translate complex product and customer requirements into clear interface solutions
  • Lead UI approach definition, scope, and delivery milestones for assigned projects
  • Design and deliver high-quality UI solutions across multiple digital journeys
  • Iterate designs through testing, feedback, and usability insights
  • Apply human-centred design principles to ensure usability and clarity
  • Ensure UI consistency across related journeys and platforms

High-Quality Interface Design

  • Create innovative, visually strong, and user-centred interface designs
  • Produce wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mock-ups, and interaction flows
  • Apply design systems, accessibility standards, and brand guidelines consistently
  • Use customer insights, analytics, and usability testing to refine design decisions
  • Evaluate trade-offs and select optimal interface solutions based on data and feedback
  • Maintain design excellence across all stages of the product lifecycle

UI Capability Building and Leadership

  • Define and evolve UI standards, patterns, and design guidelines
  • Contribute to design systems and scalable component libraries
  • Mentor junior designers and provide craft leadership and feedback
  • Stay updated with global UI, interaction, and visual design trends
  • Share knowledge, insights, and best practices across design teams
  • Promote continuous improvement and design excellence across the organisation

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric (mandatory)
  • Degree or Diploma in Design discipline (NQF Level 7), such as Interaction Design, Visual Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Product or Service Design
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in UI or digital design craft
  • Proven experience delivering complex interface design solutions with measurable impact
  • Experience across full product lifecycle: discovery, design, build, launch, and iteration

Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced expertise in User Interface and Interaction Design
  • Strong visual design skills including layout, typography, and composition
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and system constraints
  • Ability to use data, feedback, and research to guide design decisions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for design rationale
  • Awareness of accessibility standards and modern UI patterns
  • Strong collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage complex design challenges in fast-paced environments
