Cashbuild is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Edge Bander & Pothole Operator to join our team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring all customer estimations are processed accurately, adhering to strict timelines, specifications, and quality standards, ultimately minimising company losses. Your primary focus will be on operating machinery efficiently and preventing breakdowns through diligent care.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Quality Control
- Ensure all customer estimations are edged and drilled precisely according to required timelines, client specifications, and company standards.
- Minimise wastage and customer complaints through accurate calibration of machinery and precise interpretation of cutting lists.
- Perform daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on cutting and edging machinery.
Customer Service
- Provide reliable and prompt customer service, offering expert advice on products and addressing any queries or complaints in a timely manner.
- Ensure you are available within your area of responsibility to assist customers and colleagues as needed.
- Assist in other departments when required.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Maintain strict adherence to OHSA regulations, including the proper use of safety gear and ensuring the safety of both customers and employees within your area.
- Operate machinery in accordance with all specifications and safety standards.
- Merchandise stock safely to prevent injuries and ensure clear access to all areas.
- Complete required checklists, including canteen and toilet schedules, when on duty.
Loss Prevention and Security
- Remain vigilant for suspicious behaviour or individuals and report any concerns to management immediately.
- Verify proof of purchase or required documentation before loading products for customers.
- Ensure the necessary order/invoice is present before cutting, edging, or drilling any products.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience operating cutting, edging, and drilling machinery is advantageous.
- 2 years of carpentry experience would be a strong asset.
- Proficiency in performing basic calculations accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, is essential.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
