Panel Saw Operator – Cashbuild (Nelspruit, Mpumalanga)

Cashbuild is seeking a diligent and skilled Panel Saw Operator to join our team in Nelspruit. As a Panel Saw Operator, you will be instrumental in ensuring customer estimations are cut accurately according to specifications and to the required standards, minimizing company losses and preventing machinery breakdowns through careful operation.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service:

  • Provide reliable and prompt customer service.
  • Offer accurate product advice and assist customers with any queries.
  • Address customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Be available within the area of responsibility and assist in other departments as needed.

Housekeeping:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, free from obstacles, ensuring easy access for all.
  • Complete required checklists, including canteen and toilet schedules, during shifts.
  • Assist with packing stock away in designated bins.

Safety (OHSA) Requirements:

  • Adhere to all OHSA compliance regulations, including the use of safety gear and ensuring the safety of customers and employees within your area.
  • Follow all machinery specifications and safety standards.
  • Merchandise stock safely in your area of responsibility.

Loss Prevention and Security:

  • Be vigilant for suspicious behaviour or individuals and report any concerns to management.
  • Ensure proof of purchase or required documentation is presented before loading products for customers.
  • Verify the required order/invoice is available before cutting, edging, or drilling any products.

Cutting and Edging Operations:

  • Minimise wastage and customer complaints by accurately calibrating machinery according to cutting lists.
  • Ensure accuracy by meticulously reading and interpreting cutting lists.
  • Perform daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience operating cutting and edging machinery is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
