Cashbuild is seeking an experienced and driven Cabifit Manager to join our team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. This role is crucial for protecting and growing market share profitably within the store, aligning with our overarching store, area, and company strategies. Key Responsibilities

Sales & Market Share Growth

  • Issue and follow up on quotations to drive sales.
  • Manage the quote process and control special orders effectively.
  • Ensure accurate estimations and cutting lists are completed within agreed timeframes.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to maintain the store’s competitiveness.
  • Minimise wastage and customer complaints through precise machine calibration and accurate interpretation of cutting lists.
  • Promote loyalty programmes, including VIC and Charge Card customers.
  • Achieve market share growth in line with company benchmarks.
  • Develop proactive action plans to protect market share when competitors emerge.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Implement and monitor the customer service strategy.
  • Ensure reliable and prompt delivery services.
  • Grow and maintain the customer and VIC client base.
  • Recommend range improvements tailored to market needs.
  • Address customer survey feedback by implementing action plans.
  • Ensure effective employee scheduling to deliver exceptional customer service.

Operational Management

  • Manage an efficient delivery service, ensuring correct rates are charged and deliveries are dispatched within the required timeframes.
  • Communicate proactively with customers regarding any delayed deliveries and agree on appropriate arrangements.
  • Order stock and manage shrinkage within the store.
  • Oversee Wall-to-Wall Stock-Takes and manage damaged, obsolete, and slow-moving stock.
  • Analyse security requirements and implement necessary changes.
  • Manage debtors, petty cash, daily banking, shorts and overs, and credit cards.
  • Maintain and protect racking, displays, signage, forklifts, generators, cutting and edge machinery, IT equipment, telephone systems, the safe/vault, and all assets listed on the Asset Register.

Human Resource Management

  • Recruit and induct all employees.
  • Ensure training and development initiatives, including succession planning, are in place.
  • Manage manpower requirements according to company benchmarks.
  • Foster open communication and positive relations with the Employee Forum.
  • Manage employee relations and performance management processes.

Safety & Compliance

  • Manage safety aspects in compliance with local (OHSA) and neighbouring country legislation.
  • Ensure all safety checklists are completed.
  • Appoint Safety and First Aid Representatives as per OHSA.
  • Report incidents to the line manager and risk department.
  • Take immediate action on any identified non-compliance.
  • Record all OHASA incidents.
  • Ensure all forklift operators have valid licenses and workshop staff are signed off as compliant.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for all safety equipment.

Financial & Policy Adherence

  • Manage the store according to the Financial Model, benchmarks, and budgets to ensure profitability.
  • Monitor adherence to company standard compliance within the store.
  • Implement and maintain controls and disciplines.
  • Implement Corrective Action Plans (PIP) where necessary.

Quality & Estimating

  • Minimise wastage through effective quality control of the cutting and edging process, and accurate machine calibration.
  • Ensure quality control in reading and interpreting cutting lists.
  • Perform accurate estimating calculations based on customer specifications.
  • Provide customers with precise estimates and picking/cutting lists.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar managerial position.
  • Grade 12 qualification, with at least 3 years of related Retail/Wholesale management experience, OR 5 years of related Retail/Wholesale experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in carpentry products, cutting, and edging would be advantageous.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Well-developed business acumen.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Strong leadership and administrative skills.
  • Must have own transport and a cell phone.
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation (OHSA).
