We’re seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Counter Sales professional in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. If you have a knack for customer service and a passion for sales within a retail or wholesale environment, this could be the perfect fit for you.
About the Role
As a Counter Sales representative, your primary focus will be on providing exceptional service to our customers. This involves expertly assisting them with product inquiries, processing sales efficiently and accurately, and maintaining an organized and welcoming sales counter. You’ll also play a key role in inventory management, ensuring our merchandise is well-stocked and presented attractively.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer order requests and sales transactions accurately.
- Handle payments received and manage associated banking processes with precision.
- Deliver reliable and prompt customer service, advising customers effectively on our product range.
- Address customer queries and complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable sales counter, free of unnecessary stock.
- Assist with packing and merchandising stock as required, ensuring items are displayed promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OHSA) within your area of responsibility, prioritizing the safety of both customers and employees.
- Remain vigilant for suspicious behaviour and report any concerns to management.
- Verify proof of purchase or required documentation before loading any product for a customer.
- Support other departments as needed and develop comprehensive product knowledge across all Cashbuild offerings.
What We’re Looking For
- A Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
- At least 1 year of sales experience within hardware retail, wholesale, or a similar sector.
- While not essential, 1 year of carpentry experience would be considered a significant advantage.
- A strong ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- The ability to perform effectively under pressure.
