The Analyst Credit High Value is responsible for conducting in-depth, high-quality credit assessments and risk analysis for premium and high-value clients. This role plays a critical part in supporting informed credit decision-making by evaluating financial performance, analysing risk indicators, and interpreting both quantitative and qualitative client information.
As an Analyst Credit High Value, you will assess complex financial statements, monitor client portfolios, and provide insights that align with the bank’s credit appetite and risk management framework. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
Role Overview
The Analyst Credit High Value works closely with Relationship Banking teams, Credit, and Product Specialists to structure sustainable credit solutions for high-value clients. You will be responsible for maintaining the quality of the credit portfolio, ensuring compliance with policies, and contributing to effective risk management practices.
This role also involves continuous monitoring of client performance, managing credit-related processes, and supporting business growth through strategic client insights and solutioning.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Continuously monitor client performance to identify potential risk indicators and conduct periodic formal reviews.
- Ensure compliance with covenants and facility conditions, escalating any concerns where necessary.
- Identify high-risk or problematic clients and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Monitor outstanding securities and request updated valuations where required.
- Manage and track financial statements in line with policy requirements.
- Review and action daily credit processes, including referrals and exception reports.
Credit Management
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and risk assessments for high-value clients.
- Ensure adherence to credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop innovative and sustainable credit solutions tailored to client needs.
- Manage the credit application process and ensure high-quality submissions for approval.
- Proactively manage risks across the client portfolio and recommend corrective actions.
Portfolio Financial and Operational Management
- Prepare credit reviews, amendments, and new credit applications for approval.
- Issue facility letters and manage renewal processes in line with policy timelines.
- Ensure recovery of applicable fees to support revenue generation.
- Capture and analyse financial data using credit risk grading models.
- Provide accurate default grading outputs and ensure data integrity across systems.
Client Solutioning and Customer Service
- Identify cross-selling opportunities based on financial analysis and client behaviour.
- Support Relationship Managers by providing credit insights and recommendations.
- Participate in solution discussions to align client needs with appropriate financial products.
- Conduct industry research to understand market trends and client positioning.
- Contribute to improving customer experience through proactive engagement and insights.
Teamwork and Development
- Participate actively in team discussions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry developments.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business, Commerce, Management Studies, or Credit Risk
- Professional qualifications such as CFA or CA(SA) are advantageous
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit analysis or related roles
- Experience working with high-value or premium client portfolios
- Agricultural credit analysis experience is advantageous
Technical Skills
- Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with credit risk grading models and financial systems
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
