This role is crucial in driving sales performance by ensuring exceptional customer service, accurate costing, and efficient store operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Sales Coordinator, your primary focus will be on cultivating strong customer relationships to boost sales. This involves accurately costing building plans and providing customers with precise quotations. You will also be responsible for maintaining impeccable housekeeping and merchandising standards throughout the store, while ensuring a cost-effective and efficient delivery service.
Sales Excellence:
- Generate sales by issuing and diligently following up on quotations.
- Manage the quotation process and oversee special orders.
- Interpret building plans to ensure accurate quotations are provided within agreed timeframes.
- Effectively manage incoming and outgoing calls, ensuring all customer follow-ups are completed.
- Conduct competitor analysis to maintain the store’s competitive edge.
- Communicate bulk deposit transfers to customers.
- Actively promote loyalty programs, including VIC and Charge Card benefits.
Delivery Management:
- Oversee an efficient delivery service, ensuring accurate charging of rates.
- Ensure deliveries are dispatched promptly within the required time limits.
- Proactively communicate any delayed deliveries to customers and make appropriate, agreed-upon arrangements.
Customer Service:
- Manage the Customer Service Desk effectively.
- Record, follow up on, and resolve customer complaints.
- Provide consistently efficient customer service, ensuring all customers are attended to promptly.
- Maintain excellent telephone etiquette, answering all calls within the required timeframe.
Store Standards:
- Effectively manage Ready for Business Checklists and related processes within your area of responsibility and for the General Assistant, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers.
- Implement price changes accurately in line with advertised prices.
- Execute planogram implementations.
Team Supervision:
- Ensure General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers are present and available in their designated areas to assist customers and fulfill their duties.
- Confirm that trained backup is available for General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers.
- Oversee the execution of daily duties by General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers, including Ready for Business and Beyond My Control tasks.
Safety and Security:
- Ensure adherence to all safety standards.
- Confirm that employees under your supervision wear the correct protective clothing and use equipment safely.
- Maintain awareness of any suspicious individuals or activities, both inside and outside the store.
- Practice and enforce password security protocols.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Grade 12 (Matric) qualification is essential, coupled with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a minimum of ten years of direct work experience will be considered.
- Experience in reading building plans is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in both English and the dominant local language spoken in the Siyabuswa area are required.
- Possess above-average numeric skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Proven capability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Established strong organizational, planning, and delegation skills.
