Position Overview
Cashbuild is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a **Perpetual Inventory Controller** in Grahamstown, South Africa. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the accuracy of our stock management systems through diligent physical counts and thorough reconciliation.
#### **Key Responsibilities**
* Conduct daily physical stock counts and verify against system on-hand quantities.
* Investigate and identify the root causes of stock discrepancies, capturing all identified variances.
* Flag and report damaged stock, incorrect pricing, and SKU issues to management.
* Perform cycle counts according to the Perpetual Inventory Count (PIC) cycle.
* Investigate and rectify negative stock quantities daily, with Store Manager approval.
* Report on damaged stock to the Store Manager.
* Conduct mini stock-takes as instructed by management.
* Assist with full stock-take preparations, reporting any concerns.
* Report daily variances and irregularities to the Store Manager and/or Divisional Manager, adhering to Cashbuild procedures.
* Report irregularities to the Divisional Manager if no action is taken by the Store Manager.
* Provide reports on incorrect or poor-quality pricing, SKUs, and damaged stock.
* Report on poor merchandising in racking and bulk areas.
* Highlight bulk stock areas requiring special attention.
* Ensure all PIC adjustments are actioned, verified for accuracy, and signed off by Management.
* Validate the “End of Day Report” against the previous day’s PIC Adjustment Sheet and file accordingly.
* Report any adjustments not completed on the day of the count cycle before the end of trading.
* Ensure all PIC documents are completed, signed by you, approved by the Store Manager, and filed daily.
* Adhere to “Ready for Business” and “Beyond my Control” standards as per the Cashbuild Way.
* Adhere to the Cashbuild dress code and ensure your name badge is visible at all times.
* Provide immediate assistance with customer complaints.
* Ensure compliance with Safety (OHSA) regulations, including customer and staff safety within your area of responsibility.
* Report any safety discrepancies to the Store Manager.
* Ensure correct safety equipment and clothing are used.
#### **Qualifications and Experience**
* Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
* At least one (1) year of work-related experience, or two (2) years of relevant experience.
* Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language.
* Must be literate.
* Possess strong numeric skills.
* Must be accurate and capable of working effectively under pressure.
* Basic computer literacy is required.
* Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays.
