Aircraft & Major Modules Records Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft & Major Modules Records Specialist to manage, review, and maintain aircraft and major module records, ensuring compliance with lease agreements, regulatory requirements, and company standards. This role supports aircraft induction, maintenance coordination, and lease return processes while providing expert insights and guidance to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of all new aircraft records and major module records entering the fleet
- Review records in line with lease contracts and company requirements
- Compile and manage ‘Open Item Listings’ to communicate discrepancies to lessors
- Liaise with Legal and Asset Management departments during technical acceptance of aircraft and major modules
- Conduct offsite visits to review physical records and inspect aircraft conditions when required
- Support compliance department with Certificate of Airworthiness inspections for aircraft induction
- Coordinate lease returns for aircraft and major modules, including engines
- Work with maintenance planners to schedule tasks or checks for inductions and lease returns
- Collaborate with records administrators to ensure physical record requirements are met
- Coordinate annual lessor inspections and provide necessary information to maintenance planners
- Schedule inductions, deliveries, and compile/distribute work orders to MRO
- Ensure all documentation is current and compliant during lease return processes
- Capture ATLRs and component movements for aircraft joining the fleet
- Update logbooks for aircraft and major modules entering or leaving the fleet
- Review completed work orders for accuracy and assist with issuing Certificates of Release to Service (CRS) and CRMA documents
- Ensure compliance with ADs, SBIs, EOs, and ASBs
- Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines
- Provide expert advice and implement corrective actions when required
- Analyse stakeholder needs and identify improvement initiatives
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Promote teamwork and provide guidance, support, and development to direct reports
Job Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)
- Technical diploma (advantageous)
- Type rating on aircraft operated by FlySafair (advantageous)
- Certificate in maintenance planning (advantageous)
- 8–12 years of aircraft planning or records experience in a mid-size organisation (essential)
- Experience with B737 aircraft type (advantageous)
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Willingness to work overtime
