General Assistant – Cashbuild
Cashbuild is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a General Assistant at our KwaDesi, Eastern Cape, South Africa location. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive and efficient shopping experience for our customers and maintaining the overall presentation of our store.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide comprehensive customer service, assisting clients with product selection and addressing any queries or complaints effectively.
- Merchandising Standards: Maintain optimal stock levels, ensure accurate shelf price labelling, and adhere to store layout plans and planograms within your designated area.
- Housekeeping: Keep your area of responsibility clean, organised, and free from obstructions. Ensure stock is merchandised promptly after receipt and aisles are safe and accessible for customers.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements, including the proper use of safety gear and ensuring the safety of both customers and colleagues.
- Stock Management: Report any damaged stock or discrepancies to the Store Manager promptly.
Requirements
- A Grade 10 (NQF 3) qualification with at least one year of relevant work experience, OR a Grade 12 qualification without prior work experience.
- Proficiency in English and the dominant local language spoken in the KwaDesi area.
- A valid South African ID or work permit.
- The ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- A strong ability to work effectively under pressure.
