Cashbuild is seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a General Assistant in Phalaborwa. Key Responsibilities

As a General Assistant, your primary duties will include:

• Customer Service: Providing comprehensive customer service, advising and assisting customers with product selection and queries, and effectively resolving customer complaints.
• Merchandising: Ensuring stock is accurately merchandised, shelves are correctly priced, and maintaining high standards of housekeeping within your designated area. This includes ensuring bulk stock areas are merchandised safely and according to the store layout, and that your area of responsibility is fully stocked and presented according to planograms.
• Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and safe environment by ensuring your area is free of obstacles, stock is merchandised promptly after receiving, and aisles are clear for safe customer access. This also includes ensuring correct shelf price labelling and completing required checklists for canteen and toilet/shower areas.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements, including the use of safety gear and ensuring the safety of both customers and staff within your area. This involves ensuring racking and bulk stock are merchandised in a way that allows colleagues and customers to move safely within the store.
• Stock Management: Reporting any damaged stock within your area of responsibility to the Store Manager.
• Reporting: Reporting any discrepancies observed to the Store Manager.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A minimum of Grade 10 (NQF 3) with at least one year of relevant work experience, OR a Grade 12 qualification without prior related experience.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language spoken in Phalaborwa.
• A valid South African ID or work permit.
• The ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• A willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• The capacity to work effectively under pressure.
