Cashbuild is seeking a meticulous and experienced Panel Saw Operator to join our team in Mankweng. This role is crucial in ensuring customer orders are accurately cut to specifications, meeting required timelines and standards while minimizing company loss. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for the upkeep and operational integrity of our machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence:
- Accurately cut all customer estimations according to provided specifications, timelines, and quality standards, ensuring minimal material wastage.
- Maintain and operate cutting and edging machinery efficiently, performing daily cleaning and preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns due to negligence.
- Minimize wastage and customer complaints through precise machine calibration and accurate interpretation of cutting lists.
- Ensure all cutting and edging tasks are performed only upon presentation of the required order or invoice.
Customer Service:
- Provide reliable and prompt customer service, offering accurate product advice and addressing customer queries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Ensure availability within the designated area of responsibility to assist customers.
- Assist in other departments as and when required.
Housekeeping and Safety:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, free of obstacles, ensuring easy access and preventing any risk of injury or irritation to customers and employees.
- Complete daily checklists as required, including canteen and toilet schedules.
- Assist with packing stock away in designated bins.
- Strictly adhere to all Safety (OHSA) requirements, including the correct use of safety gear and ensuring the safety of customers and employees within your area of responsibility.
- Ensure adherence to machinery specifications and safety standards at all times.
- Merchandise stock in a safe manner.
Loss Prevention and Security:
- Remain vigilant for suspicious behaviour or individuals and report any concerns promptly to Management.
- Verify proof of purchase or required documentation before loading any product for a customer.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience is advantageous.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience operating cutting and edging machinery is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
