The Space Planner And Interior Designer is responsible for the strategic planning and design of real estate spaces across the organization. The role focuses on optimizing space utilization, delivering innovative design solutions, and ensuring that all projects align with business growth, operational needs, and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Space Planning
- Conduct regular engagements with business units to assess current and future space requirements
- Develop growth projections and plan space allocation accordingly
- Monitor and track space usage, identifying and addressing capacity challenges
- Implement blocking and stacking strategies to accommodate changing needs
Design and Development
- Interpret client briefs in collaboration with project managers
- Develop conceptual layouts, detailed designs, and 3D visualizations
- Prepare presentations and design documentation for project approvals
- Produce detailed drawings for construction, finishes, and installations
- Source and specify materials, furniture, and finishes
- Collaborate with suppliers and contractors throughout the design process
- Conduct site inspections, resolve design challenges, and ensure quality delivery
- Perform final inspections and ensure design standards are met
- Support external tenants with design, setup, and space planning
Project Management
- Manage office moves and space reconfigurations
- Prepare project cost estimates and review design layouts
- Conduct site assessments to ensure alignment with approved plans
- Coordinate with contractors for planning and execution of moves
- Oversee project schedules, documentation, and communication
- Manage multiple trades and ensure project quality standards
- Supervise junior team members and ensure accuracy of outputs
- Support change and financial management processes
Administration
- Compile and manage project costs, documentation, and approvals
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems for all projects
- Manage job cards and service level agreements
- Coordinate order processing and resolve invoice queries
- Produce reports on space utilization, growth trends, and occupancy
- Update live drawings and cost center allocations after space changes
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations
- Assess existing office furniture and assets for relocation or reuse
Branding and Signage
- Interpret client requirements for branding and signage projects
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for implementation
- Obtain quotations and manage installation processes
- Conduct site visits to ensure quality and compliance
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant qualification in Interior Design or Space Planning
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in space planning
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in interior design
- At least 2 years’ experience in project management
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience with Revit
