Cashbuild is seeking a skilled Edge Bander & Pothole Operator to join our team in Mankweng, South Africa.
As an Edge Bander & Pothole Operator, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all customer estimations are meticulously edged and drilled according to project timelines, specifications, and quality standards, with a strong focus on minimizing company losses. A key part of your role will be to prevent machinery breakdowns through diligent operation and care.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience would be advantageous.
- 1 year of experience operating cutting, edging, and drilling machinery is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing basic calculations accurately.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, is essential.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Key Performance Areas
Customer Service
- Deliver reliable and prompt customer service.
- Provide accurate product advice to customers.
- Assist customers with any product-related queries.
- Address customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Be available within your area of responsibility.
- Assist in other departments as needed.
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clear and obstacle-free work area.
- Merchandise stock promptly upon receipt, ensuring easy and safe access.
- Complete required checklists, including canteen and toilet schedules, while on duty.
- Assist with packing stock away into designated bins.
Safety (OHSA) Requirements
- Ensure strict compliance with Safety (OHSA) regulations, including the proper use of safety gear and maintaining a safe environment for customers and employees within your area of responsibility.
- Adhere to machinery specifications and established safety standards.
- Merchandise stock in your area of responsibility safely to ensure the well-being of customers and employees.
Loss Prevention and Security
- Maintain vigilance for suspicious behaviour or individuals and report any concerns to Management.
- Verify proof of purchase or required documentation before loading products for customers.
- Ensure that cutting, edging, or drilling of products is only performed with the necessary order or invoice.
Cutting and Edging Operations
- Minimize wastage and customer complaints by accurately calibrating machinery according to cutting lists.
- Accurately read and interpret cutting lists to reduce wastage and customer complaints.
- Perform daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery.
