Cashbuild Vacancies – Forklift Driver

Job Type: Permanant
Company: Cashbuild
Job Location: Tibanefontein Village, South Africa

Experienced Forklift Driver Needed at Cashbuild in Tibanefontein Village

Cashbuild is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join our team at the Tibanefontein Village store in South Africa. If you have a valid forklift license and a strong commitment to operational efficiency and excellent customer service, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

As a Forklift Driver, your primary role will involve operating and maintaining a forklift safely and cost-effectively. You will also be instrumental in providing comprehensive customer service within the store, including merchandising stock, accurate shelf price labelling, and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards within your designated area of responsibility.

Your daily tasks will encompass:

  • Customer Service Excellence: Actively engaging with customers, understanding their needs, providing accurate product advice, and promptly addressing any queries or complaints. You’ll also be involved in add-on sales, ensuring customer purchases are loaded efficiently and carefully, and informing customers about our additional services such as delivery, glass cutting, and credit programmes. A strong understanding of our product range is essential.
  • Merchandising Standards: Ensuring that stock areas are merchandised safely and in accordance with store layout plans and planograms. Maintaining a fully merchandised area of responsibility is crucial.
  • Housekeeping and Presentation: Keeping your designated area free of obstacles, immediately merchandising received stock, and ensuring customers can navigate aisles safely. Accurate shelf price labelling and completion of daily checklists for shared facilities are also part of this role.
  • Loss Prevention and Security: Identifying potential display gaps, investigating causes, and reporting concerns to management. Vigilance regarding suspicious behaviour and adherence to strict procedures for product loading without proof of purchase are paramount.
  • Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhering to all safety regulations, including not overloading the forklift or racking, wearing required safety gear (helmet and kidney belt), never using the forklift to lift personnel, and ensuring entrances and exits remain clear. Prompt reporting of any forklift faults or maintenance needs is mandatory.

Requirements

To be considered for this Forklift Driver position, you will need:

  • A Grade 12 certificate or a minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language spoken in Tibanefontein Village.
  • Proficiency in performing basic calculations accurately.
  • A willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • The ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent physical fitness to operate a forklift.
  • A valid forklift license.

Company Values

At Cashbuild, we operate by a core set of values that guide our actions and interactions:

  • Integrity: Complying with accepted standards, keeping promises, creating realistic expectations, acting sincerely, handling sensitive information carefully, and showing awareness of values.
  • Accuracy: Meticulously handling detailed information, being consistently attentive to detail, working in an orderly fashion, and investing energy in checking work for mistakes.
  • Client Focus: Actively identifying and responding to client needs, dealing with clients in a friendly manner, showing involvement in client problems, making clients feel welcome, and approaching client queries with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Personal Development: Being aware of one’s strengths and weaknesses, consciously working on self-improvement, seeking to broaden knowledge and gain experience, and actively using opportunities for development and seeking feedback.
