Edge Bander & Pothole Operator – Nelspruit, Mpumalanga

Cashbuild is seeking a skilled and diligent Edge Bander & Pothole Operator to join our team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. This role is crucial in ensuring that all customer estimations are processed accurately, adhering to timelines, specifications, and company standards, while minimising operational losses and maintaining machinery in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Production & Quality: Ensure all customer orders are edged and drilled correctly according to timelines, provided specifications, and required standards. Prevent machinery breakdowns through careful operation and maintenance.
• Customer Service: Provide reliable and prompt customer service, offering expert advice on products and assisting with queries and complaints in a timely manner. Be available within the area of responsibility and support other departments as needed.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organised work area, free from obstructions, ensuring stock is merchandised promptly. Complete required checklists, including canteen and toilet schedules. Assist with packing stock away into designated bins.
• Safety (OHSA): Strictly adhere to all Safety (OHSA) regulations, including the proper use of safety gear and ensuring the safety of customers and employees within the work area. Ensure machinery is operated according to specifications and safety standards. Stock must be merchandised safely.
• Loss Prevention & Security: Be vigilant for suspicious behaviour and report any concerns to management. Ensure all product loading is accompanied by proof of purchase or required documentation. Confirm orders/invoices are in place before cutting, edging, or drilling any products.
• Cutting and Edging Operations: Minimise wastage and customer complaints by accurately calibrating machinery according to cutting lists and by accurately reading and interpreting cutting instructions. Perform daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience operating cutting, edging, and drilling machinery is advantageous.
• 2 years of carpentry experience would be beneficial.
• Proficiency in performing basic calculations accurately.
