Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor – Cashbuild – Nelspruit, Mpumalanga
Cashbuild is seeking a meticulous and experienced Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor to join our team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. In this critical role, you will oversee the cutting and edging operations, ensuring high quality and efficient workflow to minimize company losses while meeting customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary focus will be on monitoring and supervising cutting and edging processes, ensuring the smooth and accurate execution of tasks. You will coordinate the activities of workers engaged in cutting and edging fabric, ensuring adherence to customer specifications. A significant part of your role will involve maintaining all relevant machinery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Minimizing wastage and customer complaints through accurate machine calibration and precise interpretation of cutting lists.
- Performing daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on all machinery.
- Providing reliable and prompt customer service, including advising customers on products and assisting with queries and complaints.
- Ensuring effective employee scheduling to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assisting in other departments as needed and being available in your area of responsibility.
- Maintaining a neat and obstacle-free work area, ensuring immediate merchandising of received stock.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations (OHSA), including the correct use of safety gear and maintaining the safety of customers and employees.
- Adhering to machinery specifications and safety standards.
- Safely merchandising stock to ensure the safety of all.
- Being vigilant and reporting any suspicious behaviour to management.
- Ensuring proof of purchase or required documentation before loading any product for a customer.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience is advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience is advantageous.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working with cutting and edging machinery is advantageous.
- Proficiency in performing basic calculations accurately.
- Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
