About the Department
DCS serves as Discovery’s Shared Services company, acting as a financial command centre responsible for managing significant central assets and strategic initiatives. It supports group subsidiaries by delivering key centralized functions such as HR, IT, Payroll, Legal, Tax, and Compliance. The department operates at the forefront of financial planning, reporting, and compliance, transforming complex financial structures into scalable and efficient solutions.

About the Role
The Finance Manager plays a critical role in overseeing financial planning, reporting, and budgeting within the shared services environment. This position focuses on delivering valuable financial insights that support business objectives and long-term growth, while maintaining strict confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive financial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
• Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
• Deliver accurate group reporting submissions
• Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to support decision-making
• Oversee intercompany transactions, ensuring accurate reconciliation and compliance
• Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Support and coordinate internal and external audit processes
• Maintain accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of financial records and reports
• Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting frameworks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial queries
• Manage cash flow reporting, foreign exchange transactions, and lease accounting (IFRS 16)

Requirements

• CA (SA) qualification
• 5–7 years of experience in financial management within a large corporate environment
• Proven ability to work with multiple finance and business teams
