Cashbuild is seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead our branch in Metz, Limpopo. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our continued success by protecting and growing profitable market share.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Management

  • Develop, implement, and manage a strategic plan for the store, ensuring alignment with overall Divisional strategy and initiatives.

Market Share Growth and Protection

  • Drive transaction, sales, and market share growth within the store, meeting budget objectives.
  • Achieve sales budgets and growth targets.
  • Manage and promote customer loyalty programmes and third-party credit offerings.
  • Develop and implement action plans to protect market share against competitor entry.
  • Ensure store business plans are implemented and updated as required.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the store’s customer service strategy.
  • Ensure an effective delivery service is maintained according to company policy.
  • Grow and maintain the VIC (Very Important Customer) and charge card client base.
  • Recommend range improvements to suit market needs.

Asset Control and Security

  • Manage and control store shrinkage according to company policy.
  • Protect all company assets, including cash, stock, and fixed assets.
  • Effectively manage debtors within the store.
  • Analyze security requirements and recommend necessary changes.
  • Ensure physical security measures are implemented and maintained.

Business Trade Licenses

  • Ensure all relevant trade licenses are up-to-date and renewed in a timely manner, where applicable.

Human Resource Management

  • Manage manpower requirements in line with company and divisional strategy.
  • Ensure succession planning and career pathing are in place within the store.
  • Foster open communication and maintain positive relations with the store employee forum and staff.
  • Ensure training and development initiatives are implemented for store personnel.
  • Effectively manage employee relations within the store.

Maintaining Store Standards

  • Conduct daily floor walks to ensure standards are met.
  • Ensure implementation of agreed action plans where necessary.
  • Monitor adherence to company standard compliance.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure merchandising policies and standards are adhered to.
  • Implement “ready for business” standards within the store.
  • Ensure lighting, store fixtures, and racking are maintained in good condition.

Stock Management

  • Oversee stock ordering and receiving processes according to policy.
  • Ensure damaged stock is cleared as per policy.
  • Implement action plans for obsolete or deranged stock as per policy.
  • Manage slow-moving stock according to policy.
  • Implement action plans for excess stock as per policy.

Store Safety (OHSA) Standards

  • Manage safety aspects in line with local (OHSA) and/or neighbouring countries’ legislation.
  • Ensure all required safety checklists are completed.
  • Ensure the appointment of all OHSA representatives for the store as required by legislation.
  • Investigate, report, and manage OHSA incidents.

Expense Management

  • Manage the store according to the financial model and benchmarks.
  • Maintain expenses within budget for the store.

Insurance Claims Administration

  • Report all incidents to the relevant insurer.
  • Liaise with the insurer regarding claim particulars and validity.
  • Submit necessary documentation to the insurer.

Management of CB Way

  • Implement and maintain controls and disciplines according to the CB Way.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related retail management experience, or 5 years of related retail management experience.
  • Well-developed business acumen.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Computer literate (basic computer skills).
  • Strong leadership and administrative skills.
  • Own transport is preferable, along with a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess an own cell phone.
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with local (OHSA) and/or neighbouring countries’ legislation.
  • Strong Human Resources Management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
