Cashbuild is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a System Sup at our Holfontein, South Africa location. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our Point of Sale (POS) systems and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Point of Sale (POS) Management: Oversee and supervise all POS transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency to achieve complete customer satisfaction. Manage all Cash Office and banking processes, along with related POS administrative functions.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Assist customers with their needs through clear and effective communication. Address customer requests, queries, and complaints, resolving them directly or escalating to management as appropriate. Strive to offer fast, friendly, and efficient service at all times.
  • Cash Handling and Banking Operations: Control and manage store floats, including petty cash, till floats, and change floats. Handle change ordering and dispensing. Balance and record petty cash expenses and vouchers accurately. Process back-office transactions and cash up cashiers and the back-office till, including bulk deposits, special deposits, charge cards, loyalty cards, and returns. Ensure all returns are valid and processed correctly. Action cash clearance and resolve any associated queries. Ensure timely cash pickups. Conduct end-of-day sessions on all POS terminals and perform daily cash-ups for all POS terminals, including the back office. Ensure a second designated Cashbuild employee is present during Cash In Transit (CIT) money collections and that daily takings are collected by the CIT company.
  • Operational Readiness: Implement “Ready for Business” processes. Ensure cashiers maintain their designated areas of responsibility. Maintain a neat and tidy Cash Office, ensuring all Cash Office-related documentation is filed appropriately and kept up-to-date.
  • People Management: Ensure all cashiers are present and available to assist customers and perform their duties. Confirm that cashiers have trained backup available. Oversee the execution of daily duties by cashiers, referencing “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” checklists. Ensure subordinate scheduling is completed on time. Take responsibility for providing product knowledge training to cashiers as agreed with the Store Manager. Schedule and supervise all POS employees, managing leave, time off, and days off. Monitor and evaluate the performance of subordinates. Ensure all cashiers comply with the company dress code.
  • Safety and Security: Adhere to all safety standards as per OHSA requirements. Maintain security awareness by monitoring for any suspicious people or activities within and outside the store. Ensure password security and that the Cash Office is secured at all times. Keep the Cash Office door locked during pickups, cash-ups, and CIT collections. Ensure till pickups are conducted within set parameters. Prevent unauthorized persons from entering the Cash Office. Ensure safe keys are securely locked away. Prohibit the storage of rations, stock, and unrelated documentation within the Cash Office.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification, plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or a minimum of 10 years of directly relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area of the position.
  • Above-average numeric skills.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Previous cashier experience is essential.
