System Supervisor – Cashbuild (Mbabane, Eswatini)
Cashbuild is seeking a dedicated and experienced System Supervisor to oversee Point of Sale (POS) transactions and manage cash office operations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. This role is crucial for maintaining efficiency and accuracy within our retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & POS Management:
- Supervise all Point of Sale (POS) transactions to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Handle all Cash Office and banking processes, along with related POS administrative functions.
- Ensure speed point transactions, including credit and debit card processing, are conducted effectively and efficiently.
- Assist customers with their needs through clear and effective communication.
- Address customer requests, queries, and complaints, resolving them or escalating to management as appropriate.
- Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to all customers.
- Control and ensure the availability of stationery and consumables within the store.
- Cash Handling and Banking:
- Manage store floats, including Petty Cash, Till Floats, and Change Floats.
- Oversee change ordering and dispensing.
- Balance and record petty cash expenses and vouchers in the Petty Cash Ledger.
- Process back-office transactions and cash up cashiers and the back office till, including bulk deposits, special deposits, charge cards, loyalty cards, and returns.
- Ensure all returns are valid and processed correctly.
- Action cash clearance and resolve associated queries.
- Ensure timely pick-ups are conducted.
- Execute End of Day sessions on all Point of Sale (POS) terminals.
- Perform daily cash-ups for all POS terminals, including the back office terminal.
- Ensure a second designated Cashbuild employee is present during Cash-In-Transit (CIT) money collections.
- Oversee the collection of daily takings by the Cash in Transit (CIT) Company.
- Operational Readiness:
- Ensure “Ready for Business” processes are implemented effectively.
- Confirm cashiers maintain their designated areas of responsibility.
- Maintain a neat and tidy Cash Office at all times.
- Ensure only Cash Office-related documentation is kept within the office, filed neatly, and kept up-to-date.
- People Management:
- Ensure all cashiers are present and available to assist customers and perform their duties.
- Confirm that cashiers have trained backup available.
- Ensure cashiers execute their daily duties according to checklists (Ready for Business and Beyond My Control).
- Schedule subordinates on time.
- Take responsibility for providing Product Knowledge training to cashiers as agreed with the Store Manager.
- Schedule and supervise all POS employees, managing leave, time off, and days off.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of subordinates.
- Ensure all cashiers comply with the company dress code.
- Safety and Security:
- Ensure safety standards are adhered to in accordance with OHSA requirements.
- Maintain awareness of suspicious individuals and/or activities within and outside the store.
- Adhere to password security protocols.
- Secure the Cash Office at all times.
- Ensure the Cash Office door is always locked during pick-ups, cash-ups, and CIT collections.
- Ensure till pick-ups are conducted within set parameters.
- Prevent unauthorized persons from entering the Cash Office.
- Ensure safe keys are securely locked away and in safe custody.
- Prevent rations, stock, and unrelated documentation from being kept in the Cash Office.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience, or 10 years of extensive work-related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area of the position.
- Above-average numeric skills.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Must be computer literate.
- Previous cashier experience is essential.
