Cashbuild is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cabifit Manager to join our team in Mankweng, South Africa. This is an excellent opportunity for a leader passionate about driving sales, protecting market share, and ensuring profitable growth within their store.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Market Growth

  • Protect and grow market share profitably within the store, aligning with company strategy.
  • Issue and follow up on quotations to drive sales.
  • Manage the quote process and special orders effectively.
  • Ensure estimations and cutting lists are accurate and completed on time.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to maintain store competitiveness.
  • Minimize wastage and customer complaints by accurately calibrating machinery and interpreting cutting lists.
  • Ensure daily cleaning and preventative maintenance of machinery are performed.
  • Promote loyalty programs, including VIC and Charge Card customers.
  • Achieve market share growth as per company benchmarks.
  • Proactively develop action plans to protect market share when competitors enter the area.

Customer Service & Deliveries

  • Implement and monitor the Customer Service Strategy.
  • Provide reliable and prompt customer delivery services, ensuring correct rates are charged.
  • Dispatch deliveries within the required time limits.
  • Communicate any delayed deliveries to customers, making and agreeing on appropriate arrangements.
  • Grow and maintain the customer and VIC client base.
  • Recommend range improvements to suit market needs.
  • Act on customer survey feedback by implementing action plans.
  • Ensure effective employee scheduling to provide exceptional customer service.

Asset Control

  • Order and manage stock, controlling shrinkage within the store.
  • Manage Wall-to-Wall Stock-Takes.
  • Address damage, obsolete, and slow-moving stock items.
  • Analyze security requirements and implement necessary changes.
  • Manage debtors, petty cash, daily banking, shorts and overs, and credit cards.
  • Maintain and protect racking, displays, signage, forklift, generator, cutting and edge machinery, IT equipment, telephone systems, the safe/vault, and items on the Asset Register.

Operational Management

  • Manage an efficient delivery service.
  • Manage the store according to the Financial Model, benchmarks, and budgets to ensure profitability.
  • Monitor adherence to company standard compliance in store.
  • Implement and maintain controls and disciplines.
  • Implement Corrective Action Plans (PIP) where necessary.

Quality & Estimating

  • Ensure wastage minimization through effective quality control of cutting and edging processes and machine calibration.
  • Minimize wastage by accurately reading and interpreting cutting lists.
  • Perform accurate estimating calculations according to customer specifications.
  • Provide accurate estimates and picking/cutting lists to customers.

Human Resource Management

  • Recruit and induct all employees.
  • Ensure training and development, including succession and back-up plans, are in place.
  • Manage manpower requirements in line with company benchmarks.
  • Ensure open communication and relations with the Store Employee Forum.
  • Manage employee relations and performance management processes.

Health & Safety

  • Manage safety aspects in line with local legislation (OHSA) and/or neighbouring countries.
  • Ensure checklists are completed and safety/first aid representatives are appointed.
  • Report incidents to line management and the risk department.
  • Take immediate action on non-compliance.
  • Record all OHASA incidents.
  • Ensure all forklift operators have valid licenses and workshop staff are certified as compliant.
  • Ensure the safe working condition of all safety equipment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Grade 12 qualification, combined with at least 3 years of related retail/wholesale management experience, or 5 years of related retail/wholesale experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer literacy.
  • Well-developed business acumen.
  • Strong leadership, administrative, and human resources management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and own transport are essential.
  • Must have own cell phone.
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with local (OHSA) and/or neighbouring countries’ legislation.
  • Experience in carpentry products and cutting & edging would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail.
